Last Day!

In case you had any doubt, Obama and Biden will win Delaware in the general election tomorrow. The Democratic ticket has maintained its lead in the polls and no surprise there- Delaware is a strong historically Democratic state along with its surrounding area. So count on Delaware's 3 electoral votes to go blue.

10 Days Away!

The election is only a little over a week away, and Delaware hasn't budged in its support of a Barack/Biden ticket.  This state is still going to vote Democratic along with the vast majority of its neighboring Northeastern states.  As if you had any doubt...

SNL Skit

SNL did a hilarious skit impersonating last week's Vice-Presidential debate.  Joe Biden's impersonator and, of course, Tina Fey as Palin, hit the nail on the head.  Watch it online at nbc.com.

Ridiculous Rumor

I received this "information" in a chain email.  It's validity- doubtful.

"On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing
health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary.  This is timed to occur
after the VP debate on 10/2.

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.
Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there
to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible.  I have
already seen a few short blurbs about this - the 'health problem' cited in
those articles was aneurysm.  Probably many of you have heard the same
rumblings.

However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like
this Obama strategy will be a go.  Therefore, it seems that the best
strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver,  spell it out in
detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.

So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass -
send this info out to as many people as you can - post about it on websites
and blogs - etc."

50 Days Out!

It would take a miracle for McCain to win Democratic Delaware.  The verdict on this state is a navy blue- strong for Obama.  The polls show that Obama is leading 50% to 41% right now in this state, which isn't an enormous margin, probably because DE voters are reluctant to vote for Obama since they strongly supported Clinton in the primaries.  This state cares about the economy and healthcare.  Still, with DE Senator Joe Biden on the ticket and the state's previously blue voting record, Delaware is in the bag for Barack this election.

Is Joe Biden...stingy?

Interesting facts have been revealed about the candidates and philanthropy.  McCain is the most giving of his income, while the Democratic candidates, particularly Delaware Senator Biden, prove less than generous.  Recently published tax return statements expose that Biden and his wife Jill give only an average of $369 per year to charitable causes, compared to McCain's over $104,000.  Biden's wealth, or lack thereof, is not a valid excuse. He only donates 0.3% of his income, on average, to help others while McCain gives away nearly a quarter of his income.  Truly telling.

Barack Chooses Biden

When Obama chose Biden as his running mate, the ticket was sealed for Delaware.  Biden is strong in foreign relations, which has been deemed Obama's weakness. He is well-liked in the state of which he is senator, and the Democratic party is hoping he will attract voters of the working and middle classes.  Learn more about Joe Biden's personal story here.

John Edwards

The Carolinas, and the nation, are buzzing about John Edwards and the affair scandal.  Seems like he paid someone off to take the hit and Elizabeth is standing by her man.  We may never know now if Edwards would have been Obama's running mate.  I guess Biden has Rielle Hunter to thank for his spot on the Democratic ticket.
